It’s funny I was just responding to Graham’s post in my training log where I stated the following….
I do finally feel like I am almost back to where I left off. Hopefully by the time I get back to 205 lbs the strength will be close. While I may have stopped training for 10 months I feel I ultimately lost about a year and a half worth of progress as that’s how long it’s going to take to be back where I left off. I am ok with that though as I am in a race only with myself and I think the break has given me a better perspective. Before I was trying to squeeze out every last drop of gains as I felt I had limited time to do so. Now I want to enjoy my time in the gym and be consistent and have fun. I am not going to let my healthy hobby become an obsession that I stress over, at the end of the day it’s about becoming a better me and I am not in competition with anyone else and I just want to enjoy the journey.
then I came across this instagram post from Cliff Wilson which re-enforces the message to enjoy the process and the journey. I think we all know this to be true but we often lose sight of this in the pursuit of our goals and it’s good to be reminded every now and then.
