Daily Undulating Periodization In Trained Powerlifters

Daily undulating periodization has gotten a lot of buzz over the last year or so. One of the people responsible for this is Dr. Mike Zourdos who I had the pleasure of working with after my first bodybuilding contest in 2012. I was fortunate enough to come across Mike’s dissertation called PHYSIOLOGICAL RESPONSES TO TWO DIFFERENT MODELS OF DAILY UNDULATING PERIODIZATION IN TRAINED POWERLIFTERS. There is a lot of information in this document and I will admit I have yet to read it all but wanted to post it as soon as possible so that people can have a look and have a great resource to learn more about this type of training.

    Thanks for posting this up!
    I’m currently working my way through this dissertation as it’s a very weighty read, pardon the pun!

    After I’ve read it I’d like to start a thread on the forum to canvass other peoples ideas on what they think and do regarding periodisation training to build lean muscle. Hopefully some experienced trainers will get involved.

  • Yes its a lot of information to go through. I will be posting up another article later in the week that covers all of the different types of periodization along with the pro’s and con’s of each.
