Re: Vanguard's Journey To The 2020 Stage!

Hey Dean - looks like you've found the right doc, hope the back troubles will be gone soon. It is impossible to train when the back is out! Seems like for me the regular moderate deadlifts have kept the lower back injuries away. Yes, I had sport bike back in my 20's and early 30's. Big fun! Sold it ...

Re: Vanguard's Training Log - 2017 Edition!

Dean, thanks for the update. Glad things are improving, and I think you're wise to focus on the important things until the stress abates. You'll benefit from the time off and let all the aches and pains heal up as well. The Caribbean cruise will be a treat, our family has really enjoyed those in the...

Warm up sets

Hi Dean, question for you. How many warm up sets/reps will you do before doing the working sets of the big 3? What is your weight progression on the warm up sets?

You've been putting up some great lifts lately, keep up the good work!

Re: Vanguards Off Season Training Log

Hi Dean - sorry to hear that work has got you down. Hope things get better soon and you can get back at it. I work for an oilfield equipment manufacturer and the last couple of years in the oil industry hasn't been a lot of fun.

Re: Vanguards Off Season Training Log

Hi Dean - congrats on dipping under 200 lbs! You're making great progress and looking good. The Dragon Boat races looks cool, glad you're taking time to do something like that. On pre-workouts, I tried Core Pump last year, but didn't really see much difference. I use a stimulate pre-workout now call...

Re: Vanguards Off Season Training Log

Hi Dean - great to see the weight loss resumed with the addition of cardio. You are handling some pretty heavy weights now, how are the glutes and lower back holding up? My increased training volume has taken its toll on me, feeling pretty beat up and low energy. Think I will take a few days off and...
