Legs Session

Weight 219 lbs

Box Squats 4 x 8 x 225
RDL 4 x 8 x 155
Leg Ext 4 x 12 x 220
Leg Curl 4 x 12 x 220
Calf Raises 4 x 12 x 220

So was a bit nervous about this one as this is usually where my low back ends up causing me grief. Decided to do Box Squats just to remove the risk of tweaking something especially since I am just starting to get back into things. Going to take things slow and easy and not rush and ensure I get past this back crap I have been dealing with and then focus on staying healthy and pain free.

Push Session

Weight 219.6

Bench Press 4 x 8 x 195
Overhead Press 4 x 8 x 110
Incline Cable Flyes 3 x 12 x 70
Cable Lateral Raise 3 x 12 x 50
Close Grip Bench 3 x 12 x 145
Overhead Tricep Ext 2 x 15 x 65

Well last week was going good but the last few days feeling that good, the flu is going around the office and I think I even made my wife sick. Missing workouts use to stress me out but i think I am learning to relax and just take it in stride. Even if I just maintain for a few weeks it better then stopping all together like I have in the past and when things get better I will be in a good spot to push again.

Weights up across board on this training session so very happy with today.

Pull Session

Weight 219 lbs

Pendlay Rows 4 x 8 x 145
Lat Pulldowns 3 x 12 x 220
Seated Cable Rows 3 x 12 x 200
BB Bicep Curls 3 x 12 65
Hammer Curls 2 x 15 x 75
Rear Delt Cable Ext 3 x 12 x 25
Ab Crunch 3 x 15 x 100

Added in some ab work. I was going to do this on leg day to make it 6 exercises each training session but I just don't have the energy to do it on leg day so today was a better fit.

Legs Session

Weight 218.4 lbs

Box Squats 3 x 8 x 275
RDL 3 x 8 x 185
Leg Ext 4 x 12 x 240
Leg Curl 3 x 12 x 230
Calf Raises 3 x 12 x 240

So increased the intensity a fair bit and I ended up reducing the number of sets to 3 instead of 4 with the exception of leg extensions. I won't increase the weight again until I can get in all 4 sets at the max reps per set.

Incline Cable Flyes 3 x 12 x 60
Cable Lateral Raise 3 x 12 x 40
Close Grip Bench 135 x 12, 10, 10
Overhead Tricep Ext 2 x 15 x 60

Well it's been a couple of weeks. Lots of stressful things going on in my life and I was struggling to keep up with everything. Mentally I was no enjoying training and I decided to take a break. Today I was actually looking forward to training again and over all happy with how things went. Things are still stressful but hoping I can manage to at least maintain for now. I will take things one day at a time.

Hi Larry,

Just noticed this now, I don't really come here unless its to post my training. So things are slowly improving and there is light at the end of the tunnel. i hate that when stress gets high I withdraw from all but the most basic and key things to focus on. I wish I could be one of those guys that can keep training through everything. I know some refer to it as their therapy but for me it just does not seem to work that way. My wife and I are getting ready to leave on a Caribbean cruise here on Nov 23rd so I figured I would start training again when we get back as stress should be pretty low at that point and then I have the first three months of the year to focus on gains before we start dieting down for 2020.

i hope everything is going well in your world and thanks so much for checking in its very much appreciated.

Dean, thanks for the update. Glad things are improving, and I think you're wise to focus on the important things until the stress abates. You'll benefit from the time off and let all the aches and pains heal up as well. The Caribbean cruise will be a treat, our family has really enjoyed those in the past.

Training here is going well - back to training 4 days a week, but cut back on the volume and intensity. I think I exceeded my MRV previously so I believe the change has helped me recover much better and I'm looking forward to each training day more.
